In response to the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Oklahoma Statewide Charter School Board v. Drummond blocking the establishment of the first religious charter school, Rabbi David Saperstein, Director Emeritus of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, released the following statement.

"We mourn Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky, the two Israeli embassy staff who were murdered outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C."

We say with one voice: our community’s real concerns about antisemitism should not be used to undermine democratic norms and institutions

We have been deeply pained by the abhorrent harassment of Jewish students, faculty, and allies on college campuses since October 7th. However, we urge that efforts to ensure Jewish safety be pursued in ways that uphold our nation’s core principles of due process and free speech.

This letter was delivered to all 100 United States senators today from Rabbi Jonah Dov Pesner regarding he nomination of Gov. Mike Huckabee as U.S. Ambassador to Israel.
